New law for residential property sales

It has been anounced in canton Valais that there will be a new law for residential property which is linked to a hotel in the form of an apart hotel, this means that an apartment can be sold to non-resident with no need for a permit.(second residence Lex Kohler permit), and as this is under the umbrella of a commercial project it is possible for a non-Swiss resident to invest in such a project.

The new law will allow a hotel to be buit with additional property which is part of the hotel but on the basis of a 'Suite' style self contained apartment. The property can then be sold to a Swiss or non-Swiss buyer, with a 15 year contract to the hotel, which means the apartment is at the disposition of the Hotel while it is not in use by the owner. There are many other detailed conditions to this, but in theory it means that a non-resident company can develop a project with residential sales which, up to now has not been possible in Switzerland.
